Giveaway Terms and Conditions

1. Sponsor

This giveaway is sponsored by Dahabshiil.com* powered by Talkremit Ltd ("Sponsor"), located at 20 Eastbourne Terrace London W2 6LG, UK.

2. Eligibility

This campaign is open to legal residents of Canada who are at least 18 years of age and are not residing in Quebec. Employees etc of Talkremit Ltd, Dahabshiil and affiliated companies are excluded. Their immediate family members are not eligible to participate. This giveaway is subject to federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

3. Campaign Period

The campaign begins on November 28th, 2023, and ends on March 31st 2024. Entries submitted before or after this period will not be considered.

4. How to Enter

Participants must share their story related to the theme "Somalinimo" on social media, tagging @Dahabshiilapp and using the hashtags #Somalinimo and #DahabshiilCanada. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not increase the chances of winning.

Share your unique Somalinimo story and your experience with Dahabshiil. 

Example of thought starter for stories you could share to enter our somalinimo giveaway:

• Personal Connection: What does Somalinimo mean to you personally? Share a story about a time when you felt a strong sense of Somalinimo.
• Cultural Heritage: How do you celebrate and preserve Somali culture in your daily life? Share a favorite memory that showcases Somali traditions or customs.
• Community Impact: How has the Somali community in Canada positively impacted your life? Share an instance where you witnessed the Somali community coming together to support one another.
• Identity and Diversity: In what ways does your Somali heritage influence your identity? How do you embrace and celebrate the diversity within the Somali community?
• Challenges and Triumphs: What challenges have you or your family faced as Somali Canadians and how have you overcome them? Share a story of a significant achievement or milestone in your life that was influenced by your Somali heritage.
• Future Aspirations: What are your hopes for the future of the Somali community in Canada? How do you envision the preservation and evolution of Somali culture in the coming years?
• Dahabshiil's Role in Your Somalinimo Journey: How has Dahabshiil's money transfer service supported your expression of Somalinimo, particularly in connecting with your family and community? Please share a memorable experience where Dahabshiil helped facilitate a significant financial transaction that had a meaningful impact on your life or the lives of your loved ones, embodying the spirit of Somalinimo.

Please remember the following guidelines when sharing your story:
·       Authenticity: Your story should be heartfelt, reflecting genuine experiences about Somalinimo and how sending money home with Dahah.
·       Respectful Language: Avoid profanity or disrespect. Be inclusive and kind.
·      Exclusive Branding: Do not tag or mention competitors.

 5. Selection of Winner

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor based on creativity, originality, authenticity and relevance to the theme. The decision of the judges is final and binding.

6. Prize

There will only be one winner.  The winner will receive a CAD$1,000 money transfer via Dahabshiil app, subject to signing the document provided for at paragraph 8 before receiving the prize. The prize is non-transferable and no cash or other prize substitution is permitted except at the discretion of the Sponsor.

7. Notification

The winner will be notified via social media within five (5) days following selection. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within 15 days from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

8. Rights Granted by You

By entering this contest, you understand and agree that the Sponsor, anyone acting on behalf of the Sponsor, and the Sponsor’s licensees shall have the right, throughout the world, to:

•  edit, adapt, print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media and any language your entry to the competition, and
• use your name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and image in association with your entry,

all for promotional purposes without any further compensation to you.

9. Terms & Conditions

The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the campaign if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor’s control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the giveaway.

10. Limitation of Liability

By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any liability for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this giveaway or acceptance or use of the prize.

11. Disputes

This giveaway is governed by the laws of Canada. As a condition of participating in this giveaway, participants agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

12. Privacy Policy

Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the Dahabshiil website.

13.Winner declaration requirements

If you are the winner, you will be required to sign a document to this effect before you are entitled to receive the prize.

Winner Declaration Requirements for 'Somalinimo Stories' Campaign:
To be eligible for declaration as the winner of the "Somalinimo Stories" campaign, participants must meet specific criteria beyond their story submission. The chosen winner is required to download the Dahabshiil app and complete a full registration process. This includes becoming a verified and approved customer of Dahabshiil. The verification process necessitates providing accurate personal information, such as name, occupation, date of birth, and full residential address. Only upon successful completion of this registration and verification process will the participant be officially declared the winner and eligible to receive the prize. It is important to note that this step is essential for the disbursement of the $1000 money transfer prize and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
